A prefabricated pool with a telescopic enclosure in Grup3D's 3D pool configurator

— FOR POOL AND POOL ENCLOSURE MANUFACTURERS

3D configurator
for prefabricated
pools.

Before asking the price, the buyer of a prefabricated pool wants to know one thing: whether it fits. Then come the colour, the steps, the enclosure and what installing it will cost. Here they check their plot with the setback from the boundaries, pick the shell and the enclosure in 3D and take the project away as a PDF.

— WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU

A 12 × 9 garden,
a catalogue photo
and “will it fit?”.

May, a pool showground on the edge of town. A family looks at the polyester shells lined up on the gravel. They like the 7 × 3.5 with Roman steps, but they do not know whether it fits: the garden is “about 12 by 9”, there is an olive tree in one corner and the council, they have been told, requires two metres from the boundaries. The salesperson cannot answer without going to see it.

Nor do they know which colour to order. At the showground the shells are empty, and the sand gelcoat they love in the catalogue photo looks nothing like the dry shell in front of them. They ask about an enclosure, because the children are small, and the salesperson pulls out another catalogue, from another manufacturer, with other dimensions.

They leave with two brochures and the promise of a visit. The visit comes a week later: the plot has a slope, the crane cannot get in down the side and the 7 × 3.5 only just fits. The quote has to be redone, the enclosure checked and the drawing sent off for the permit. By the time everything is ready it is July, and the neighbour has ordered theirs from someone else.

— WHERE THE SALE LEAKS AWAY

The bottlenecks
you will recognise
straight away.

“Will a pool fit in my garden?”

Nobody can tell them whether it fits without going to see it

Plot dimensions, setback from the boundaries, paving around it, where the crane gets in: the first thing the customer asks is the hardest to answer remotely. Until they know, they do not choose a model, and the conversation ends with “we'll drop by the showground some time”.

What it costs youCustomers who go cold waiting for someone to come and measure.

“And what does the water look like in sand?”

The shell colour cannot be seen in an empty shell

At the showground the shells are dry, and in the catalogue the photos are of other light and other gardens. The customer picks the gelcoat without seeing how it changes the water, the steps or the edge against the paving at their own home, and the decision drags on or defaults to the safest colour.

What it costs youDecisions that get postponed and colour ranges that hardly sell.

“And how much would it be with an enclosure?”

The enclosure is sold separately, or not at all

Shell, filtration, enclosure, lights, bench and heat pump are quoted separately, sometimes from different suppliers. The customer never sees the complete pool with its telescopic enclosure retracted or closed, and what they do not see they do not order.

What it costs youOrders smaller than they could be, for the same sales effort.

“The council is asking me for a drawing.”

The project for the permit is put together by hand

A plan with the boundaries, a section, the depth, cubic metres of excavation and site data: every permit and every installer asks for a document that someone has to prepare from the notes taken at the visit. If one figure is missing, the job slips by weeks in the middle of the season.

What it costs youInstallations pushed into July and fitting crews standing idle.

“You have the same one as in that other brand's catalogue, don't you?”

Your website shows photos, not pools in their garden

Anyone searching for a prefabricated pool online compares photos of similar-looking shells. Without a way to see it on their plot, in their colour and with their enclosure, your range competes on price with any distributor's.

What it costs youWebsite visits that never turn into enquiries.

The 3D pool configurator with the plot boundary lines and the notice saying whether the shell fits
Answers · Nobody can tell them whether it fits without going to see it

“Does it fit my plot?”, checked by the customer

The customer enters the length and width of their garden, the setback from the boundaries required by their council and the paving around the pool. The configurator tells them whether the shell fits, how much room is left and, if it does not fit, which models do. The boundary lines and the required rectangle show in the 3D view and on the plan.

The gelcoat changes the water, in their own garden

Seven catalogue shells (rectangular, Roman, kidney, urban and lagoon with a beach entry) with their dimensions, depth and cubic metres. Seven gelcoat colours, each with the water colour it produces, three sets of steps, a bench, five edges that also dress the paving, and spotlights or an LED strip that come on at night.

The enclosure, in the same journey

Low or high telescopic, with modules that retract one behind the other, or high and fixed; in polycarbonate or glass and in four profile colours, motorised if wanted. The rules for each shell shape apply on their own. And the filtration is sized to the flow rate the chosen volume requires.

The project as a PDF, for the permit and the installer

Besides the quote, the customer downloads a project PDF with the views, the plan with the boundaries and the site data, and the installer gets the plan and section drawing, the site sheet with the excavation in cubic metres, the crane and special transport if the shell is wide, and the list of materials.

The pool in their garden, on their phone

With augmented reality, the customer places the pool at ground level in their garden at full size, without installing anything. The configurator embeds in your website with one line of code, compares two options, saves designs, and the request goes out with the chosen pool and the plot already checked (in the demo it is stored in the browser itself; in your configurator it reaches your dashboard).

— TRY IT NOW

Try it
for
yourselves.

Pick the 7 × 3.5 rectangular shell, go to the “Garden” step, switch on the boundaries and shrink the plot until it no longer fits; then add the telescopic enclosure and open it.

An open demo, with no registration, with example products and prices. It is designed for manufacturers, dealers and installers: private customers are welcome to try it, but we do not sell the product.

— INVESTMENT AND NEXT STEP

Let your customers check their plot before they call you

Send us the data sheets of two or three of your shells and your enclosures and in a 20-minute demo you will see how the configurator would look with your catalogue.

From €6,500

Most projects for manufacturers fall between €14,500 and €35,000, depending on the catalogue, the manufacturing rules and the integrations. Maintenance and hosting from €190 a month. We start from a base that already works: you are not paying for development from scratch.

— FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What we
get asked.

Does it work for concrete pools?

The demo is for prefabricated pools, which have catalogue dimensions. A built-in-place pool with free dimensions is an extension of the same configurator: shape, dimensions, depth, lining and custom steps, with its own rules.

Does augmented reality show the pool sunk into the ground?

It places it at ground level, at full size, so the customer can see how much of their garden it takes up and how it looks next to the house. It does not simulate the excavation.

Is the project PDF enough to apply for the permit?

It includes the plan with the boundaries, the views and the site data, which is what councils usually ask for as starting documentation. The engineer or architect who signs off the permit completes it with whatever each municipality requires.

Can it carry enclosures only?

Yes, as an adaptation: for an enclosure manufacturer, the configurator can start at the enclosure, with the dimensions of the customer's pool, and show it retracting and closing over their shell. In the demo a catalogue shell is chosen first and the enclosure afterwards.

Does it calculate the installation?

It calculates an indicative quote with your price list: shell, equipment, extras, assembly and installation by area, with the excavation in cubic metres and the crane and special transport when the shell needs them. The final price comes from your team after the visit.

How much does a 3D pool configurator cost?

It depends on how many shells, enclosures, equipment and rules you want to include and whether it connects to your website or your ERP. Projects start from €6,500 for a visual configurator of one product family; most projects for manufacturers fall between €14,500 and €35,000, depending on catalogue, rules and integrations, plus maintenance from €190/month. 3D modelling of your shells and enclosures is quoted separately, once we see your files.
