— WHO WE ARE

3D configurator company
for manufacturers
and for those who sell without a factory.

Grup3D is a 3D studio in Valencia that develops custom 3D configurators: the web tool with which your customer or your network chooses sizes, finishes and options while looking at the product, with the price on the spot, and with which the order reaches you as a sheet with references and quantities. We work for manufacturers with their own factory and for brands, distributors and installers that sell products made by others.

— WHAT WE DO

Custom 3D configurators,
not subscription templates.

A 3D configurator company does not sell a program: it builds yours. We start from what you already have (the catalogue, the price list, the technical office's spreadsheet, the rules that live in the workshop manager's head) and turn it into a web tool your customer uses on their own, with nothing to install, on a desktop, tablet or phone.

A 3D kitchen shows the product in three dimensions while the customer changes it: the size, the colour, the glass, the fabric, the motor, the extra. Every change is seen on the spot and recalculates the indicative price with your price list. At the end, the customer takes away a PDF with the image, the technical data and the price, and you receive the request with the complete configuration in a dashboard and, if you wish, by email.

What sets a configurator built by Grup3D apart is what happens underneath: the rules. What you do not make cannot be chosen; whatever falls outside a size, a weight or a regulation is flagged on screen and an alternative is suggested. In technical configurators, the cutting list comes out too: cut list, glass or board sizes, hardware kit and workshop sheet. And in all of them, the order sheet with references and quantities that your factory, or your supplier's, reads without interpreting anything.

We do it from Valencia for companies across Spain, by video call and with a password-protected test environment where your team uses the configurator with real orders before it goes live. Once it is published, the configurator is yours: no third-party licences and no pay-per-configuration.

— WHO IT IS FOR

With a factory
and without one.

The configurator solves the same bottleneck in two kinds of company: the one that manufactures and receives made-to-measure orders from its network, and the one that sells products made by others and has to order them correctly from whoever makes them.

— WITH A FACTORY

Manufacturers that sell made to measure

Windows, doors, pergolas, kitchens, sofas, electrical enclosures, racking, conveyors, tanks. The order comes in by phone, on a handwritten template or as a photo, and someone in the technical office has to understand it, calculate it and pass it to production. Every doubt is a call; every mistake is discovered on site or during assembly.

  • Your manufacturing rules inside the configurator: minimum and maximum sizes, weights, combinations that do not leave the factory.
  • An area for your network: distributors, shops and installers configure with the customer in front of them and send you the order sheet always in the same format.
  • Cutting list and workshop sheet in technical configurators: cut list, glass, hardware, as PDF, DXF or CSV.
  • Enquiries assigned by area to the right sales rep or distributor.
— WITHOUT A FACTORY

Brands, distributors, importers and installers

You sell a product that someone else manufactures: a brand that outsources production, an importer with its own catalogue, a distributor with several factories behind it, an installation company. The customer asks you, the price depends on a price list that is not yours, and the order has to reach the manufacturer with their references, not yours.

  • Your catalogue and your brand on screen; the manufacturer does not appear unless you want it to.
  • Your price list and your margin on top of the manufacturer's, per family or per product, with customer discounts if there are any.
  • The order goes out with the manufacturer's references, in the format they understand, and the request stays in your dashboard.
  • Several factories in a single configurator: each family with its rules, its price list and its order sheet.

— HOW WE WORK

Four steps
with your range.

We start from a base that already works in 48 configurators: you do not pay for development from scratch. The work focuses on loading what is yours and, before starting, we put in writing what is included and what is not.

  1. 01

    Your range

Families, types, sizes, materials, colours and extras you really make or sell, with their references. If it comes from a spreadsheet or a PDF catalogue, that works: we organise it with you.

  2. 02

    Your rules

Minimum and maximum sizes, weights per sash or per module, combinations that are not possible, which accessory goes with each use and which calculation has to be made (driver, lux, pallet positions, cutting list). What is not in the rules cannot be chosen.

  3. 03

    Price list and network

Prices per unit, metre or module, transport and installation by area, distributor margins and who receives each enquiry. In companies without a factory, the manufacturer's price list with your margin on top.

  4. 04

    Website, testing and training

First at a password-protected test address, with real orders; then on your website and on your network's with one line of code, with training for the sales team. Rules and price lists are updated without touching the design.

— THREE LEVELS OF CONFIGURATOR
  • Visual: one product family with its sizes and finishes in 3D, so the customer can see and order. It is the entry point.
  • With rules and price: the manufacturer's rules, price on the spot, order sheet, PDF, enquiry dashboard and an area for distributors.
  • Integrated technical: cutting list and workshop sheet, the sector's calculations, connection to the online shop or the ERP and, if wanted, an AI assistant inside the configurator.
— WHY CUSTOM-BUILT
  • The configurator is yours: no third-party licences and no pay-per-configuration; the maintenance can be dropped whenever you wish.
  • Your rules, not a template's: if your product has an exception, the configurator has it too.
  • One studio for the configurator, the catalogue renders, the technical animation and the 3D for the trade fair, with the same visual criteria.
  • More at custom configurator or subscription platform and in who owns the code.
— BEYOND THE CONFIGURATOR

What goes with
your product.

The same 3D that drives the configurator serves everything else. That is why many manufacturers start with one piece and end up with all their sales material made with the same criteria.

01 · ONLINE SHOP

Configurator in the shop

The configurator inside WooCommerce, Shopify or PrestaShop: the customer configures, sees the price and adds the made-to-measure product to the basket. See 3D configurator for online shops.

03 · AUGMENTED REALITY

The product in the customer's home

From their phone and with nothing to install: the configured product at full size on their wall, their terrace or in their warehouse. See product augmented reality.

04 · TECHNICAL ANIMATION

How your machine works

A 3D video that shows the mechanism, the assembly and the process a camera cannot film. See 3D industrial animation.

05 · PRODUCT RENDERS

A catalogue without photography

Variants, finishes and settings for the catalogue from the same 3D as the configurator. See 3D product rendering.

06 · CASE STUDIES

What is already running

— FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What we get asked
before starting.

The short answers. There are many more, sector by sector, in frequently asked questions about 3D configurators.

What is a 3D configurator company?

It is a studio that develops, for each manufacturer or brand, the web tool with which their customer or their sales network chooses sizes, finishes and options while seeing the product in 3D, with the price on the spot and an order sheet at the end. Grup3D is one of those companies: a 3D studio in Valencia that works for manufacturers, distributors and brands across Spain, with 48 open demo configurators in six sectors.

Do you only work with manufacturers?

No. We also work with companies that sell without a factory of their own: brands that outsource production, importers, distributors, installers and shops. The configurator carries their catalogue, their price list and their brand, and the order goes out with the references the manufacturer that produces it understands. If you sell products from several manufacturers, each family can have its own rules within the same configurator.

How is it different from a subscription configurator platform?

A subscription platform gives you a template into which you load your catalogue and pay every month to use it; whatever it does not anticipate cannot be done. A custom configurator is built with your manufacturing rules, your price list and your documents, integrates into your website and your distributors' with one line of code, and the program is yours: it does not depend on third-party licences. We explain it in detail in custom configurator or subscription platform.

How much does a 3D configurator cost?

Projects start from €6,500 for a visual configurator of one product family; most projects for manufacturers fall between €14,500 and €35,000, depending on catalogue, rules and integrations, plus maintenance from €190 a month. Separately, per product, 3D modelling and materials and finishes, from €30 to €120 per part or finish (or more), settled once we see your files. Details at the price of a 3D configurator.

How long until the configurator is up and running?

Between 3 and 16 weeks depending on scope; the specific date goes in the proposal. Payment terms are 40% to start, 40% with the test version and 20% at go-live. Before programming anything we put in writing what is included and what is not.

Who owns the configurator's code?

You do. The configurator is delivered as a program that belongs to your company, with no usage licences and no pay-per-configuration. The monthly maintenance covers hosting, backups and updates, and can be dropped whenever you wish. More at who owns the code of your configurator?.

Which sectors and products do you cover?

Six sectors with 48 demo configurators: doors, windows and security; furniture, wood and textiles; bathroom, tiles and flooring; outdoor, metal and street furniture; machinery, HVAC, logistics and plastics; and lighting, electrical and energy. Any other product whose options change the price, the size or the calculation is studied and developed to order.

Does it work on a phone and on our distributors' websites?

Yes. It opens in the browser on a desktop, tablet or phone with nothing to install, it is embedded in your website and in each distributor's with one line of code, and with augmented reality the product is placed at full size on the customer's wall, terrace or warehouse, also with no app. Each distributor can have their own area with their margin and, if you wish, their brand.

Does it connect to our ERP, our CRM or our online shop?

It is connected in the project, if you have them: it does not come ready-made, it is developed to order. In the meantime, every request stays in a dashboard with its complete configuration and, with an email account set up, it also reaches you by email. For online shops we have a specific page: 3D configurator in WooCommerce, Shopify and PrestaShop.

Where are you and how do you work with companies elsewhere?

We are in Valencia, Spain (Av. del Marqués de Sotelo 11, office 9) and we work for companies across Spain. The project runs by video call and with a password-protected test environment where your team uses the configurator with real orders before it goes live. The 20-minute demo with your range is also done by video call. Configurators can be delivered with the interface in other languages as part of the project.
