— FOR SHOWER SCREEN MANUFACTURERS

3D configurator
for shower screens
ordered right first time.

The bathroom shop sends you the measurement sheet with the width but without the return panel, with a “black profile” the customer saw in a photo and nothing about the anti-limescale treatment. The glass is toughened, assembled and on site it does not fit. And toughened glass cannot be cut down.

— WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU

Toughened glass
does not allow
second chances

Toughened glass cannot be cut down. Everyone in your factory knows that and almost nobody who sends you orders does. Today two 6 mm panels from a 1,400 sliding front screen came back to the factory: the shop measured the width at mid height, the wall was out of plumb and at the bottom a centimetre was missing. The fitter could not close the profile. Both panels have to be made again and the customer has been showering without a screen for ten days.

The measurement sheet reaches you from a hundred and twenty bathroom shops, each with their own template. Some give the width and the height and forget the return panel of the corner screen. Others ask for a “bar handle” when the showroom had a different model, or do not say whether it needs the anti-limescale treatment. The shop assistant fills in what the customer told them, and the customer chose by looking at the four screens that fit in the showroom.

And the customer hesitates. They do not know whether the slider will leave them enough room to get in or whether a fixed panel with no door will wet the bathroom floor. They do not understand what changes between frosted and smoked grey glass, or how the brushed gold profile will look next to their taps. They take a catalogue away, come back on Saturday with their partner and ask the same thing. And the shop calls you to confirm a price they had already confirmed.

— WHERE THE SALE LEAKS AWAY

The bottlenecks
you will recognise
straight away.

“It is 1,400… more or less.”

Made-to-measure screens measured wrong

Width, return panel and height look like three simple numbers, but each type of screen needs its own: a corner screen needs the return, a front screen the width between walls, and the height depends on the model. If the measurement sheet does not know which type has been chosen, it leaves gaps somebody fills in from memory.

What it costs youToughened glass wasted and a second run with its own lead time.

“Sliding or fixed? I just cannot picture it.”

Sliding or fixed: the doubt that eats the visit

The customer cannot see how the sliding panel runs or how much room it leaves, or whether a fixed panel will splash. In the showroom there is one of each, in different sizes and with a different profile. The assistant explains with their hands, draws on a piece of paper and the customer goes away to think. The hinged one, which might have suited them best, never came up in the conversation.

What it costs youA sale postponed to the following Saturday, when it is not lost altogether.

“I want it with the black profile from the photo.”

Profiles and glass that are hard to show

Chrome, matt black, brushed gold or white; clear, frosted or smoked grey glass; with or without a screen-printed band. There are dozens of combinations and the shop has four screens on display and a ten-centimetre profile sample set. The customer chooses by imagining, and sometimes imagines something else.

What it costs youComplaints about a finish the customer did not expect to look like that.

“Anti-limescale? Nobody told me about that.”

What the shop does not ask never reaches the factory

Bar handle, round handle or no handle, anti-limescale treatment, screen-printed band, 1,950 or 2,000 mm height: whatever the shop does not ask about does not appear on the measurement sheet, and what does not appear gets checked by phone or decided in production. Every query holds up an order that could already be on the line.

What it costs youOrders on hold waiting for one detail and customers who receive something other than what they expected.

“Can you confirm the price again with the gold profile?”

Every quote goes through your office

The shop does not have your up-to-date price list for every combination of type, size, glass and profile, so they ask you for the price by email or phone. The customer waits a day or two to find out how much it costs to swap chrome for matt black, and in that time they ask another shop.

What it costs youSlow quotes that give the customer time to compare with another manufacturer.

Sliding front screen, 1400 × 1950 mm with a matt black profile and clear glass, seen in 3D on the tray
Answers · Made-to-measure screens measured wrong

Every type of screen, with its measurements and in 3D

When a sliding front, fixed, corner or hinged screen is chosen, the configurator collects the width, the return panel and the 1,950 or 2,000 mm height, and redraws the screen in 3D with those dimensions and a person beside it for reference. With your manufacturing rules, sizes outside the range cannot be ordered.

Answers · Sliding or fixed: the doubt that eats the visit

The customer opens and closes it before buying it

The panel opens and closes in 3D, and the customer sees how much room they have to get in. Then they save the sliding, the fixed and the corner one and compare them side by side, with the differences highlighted and the indicative price of each. The doubt is settled in the shop, not the following Saturday.

— FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What we
get asked.

There are more short answers in frequently asked questions about 3D configurators and who we are in 3D configurator company.

Does the configurator help take the measurements properly?

It collects the measurements each type of screen needs and shows them in 3D, so a missing return panel or a width that does not add up stands out. It does not replace the surveyor: if the wall is out of plumb, it has to be measured at several points and the smallest measurement used. With your rules, it limits the sizes to what you make.

Can you see how the screen opens?

Yes. The demo has a control to open and close the screen in 3D, and shows the clear opening left to get in. It is the quickest way for the customer to understand the difference between a sliding, a fixed and a hinged screen without having all three on display, and to decide in the shop.

Which glass, profiles and handles does it include?

The demo comes with clear, frosted and smoked grey glass; chrome, matt black, brushed gold and white profiles; bar handle, round handle or no handle; anti-limescale treatment and a screen-printed band. In your configurator it is your glass, thicknesses, profiles and accessories, with their references and their price.

How much does a shower screen configurator cost for manufacturers?

A shower screen configurator with your models starts from this: developments start from €6,500 for a visual configurator of one product family; most projects for manufacturers fall between €14,500 and €35,000, depending on the catalogue, the rules and the integrations, plus maintenance from €190 a month. It goes up with the number of types and glass and profile combinations, the size rules that have to be controlled and whether the shops will have their own login or the orders will go into your ERP. We pin it down after seeing your price list and the measurement sheet you work with today.

Can bathroom shops use it with their own logo?

Yes, as part of the development: each shop has its own login with its brand and its margin, and the customer sees that shop's price. And when a private customer writes to you through the website, their request goes to the shop in their area, which is the one that measures, sells and fits.

Can the customer see the screen in their own bathroom?

Yes, in augmented reality from their phone and with no app to install: they scan a QR code and the screen appears at real size in their bathroom. It is useful for getting a feel for the presence of the profile and the glass; the measurement that counts is still the one the surveyor takes on site.
