Multilingual 3D
configurator
for manufacturers who export.

Selling abroad is not translating the catalogue: it is the French distributor seeing their price list in their language, the German customer receiving the PDF in German and the factory getting the same order sheet as always, in Spanish and with your references. How a 3D configurator for export is built: texts per language, price list and rules per country, requests per distributor and one address per language so that you get found in every market.

— WHAT CHANGES

What changes
when the customer is in another country.

Five things a configurator for the home market does not need and one for export does.

01 · THE LANGUAGE

Every text, in every language

Option names, rule warnings (“the sash exceeds the maximum width”), PDF texts and the confirmation email. Translating the front page is not enough: the warning that appears when a size does not comply has to appear in the language of whoever is reading it.

02 · THE PRICE LIST

One price list per country and currency

Selling price and discounts per market, with its taxes, its transport and its installation by area, loaded from your price list with a template. The same product, with the price of the country where it is sold.

03 · THE RULES

What is sold in each market

A finish only supplied in one country, a system that is not exported, a glass that changes with local regulations, an accessory that is mandatory in one market and optional in another. The manufacturing rules are the same; the selling rules, per country.

04 · THE DISTRIBUTORS

One area per distributor and country

Each distributor logs in with their user, their language, their price list and their margin, and requests from their country are assigned to them. The same professional area as in the pergola demo, with one more field for the country. See B2B configurator for distributors.

— HOW IT IS BUILT

How a configurator
in several languages is built.

You do not build one configurator per language: you build one, with the texts outside the code.

  1. 01

    The texts, in a table

Every text in the configurator (options, warnings, buttons, PDF, emails) has a key and one column per language. We prepare the first translation and your distributor in that country reviews it in the table, without touching anything else. Adding a language is adding a column.

  2. 02

    One address per language

The configurator lives at one address per language (/es/, /fr/, /de/), with the tags that tell search engines which version to show in each country. That way you get found by whoever searches for the product in their language, not just by those who already know you.

  3. 03

The price list and the selling rules, per country

Each market's price list is loaded from your template, with versioning: a price change in France is tested and goes to the website without touching the rest. The selling rules per country are set in the same manager.

  4. 04

The PDF in the customer's language; the order sheet, in the factory's

The customer receives the quote in their language, with their currency and your brand or the distributor's. The factory always receives the same order sheet, in Spanish, with your references and quantities. The customer's language never reaches the workshop.

— EXAMPLES

Four examples
of product that gets exported.

From the open demos, with no sign-up, with sample products and prices. What changes per country, in each one.

3D pergola configurator screen from the demo with the pergola on the terrace and the measurements step

Pergolas and enclosures

Louvres, roofs and side enclosures with their wind and size limits; the price list and installation per country; the distributor's professional area with their margin and their requests. The most common export product among outdoor manufacturers.

3D pallet catalogue screen from the demo with the pallets loaded on the lorry and how many fit

Pallets and packaging

Sizes, entries, load and how many fit in the lorry: what a buyer in any country asks before ordering. A 3D catalogue with the sizes in every language saves half the export emails.

3D window configurator screen from the demo with the window, the options panel and the indicative price

Windows and doors

Series, openings, glazing and roller shutters with their limits; the glass or the fitting that changes with each market's regulations is handled as a selling rule per country. Order sheet and cutting list for the factory, always the same.

3D industrial shelving configurator screen from the demo with the shelving, the levels and the load per level

Shelving and industrial equipment

Levels, load, protectors and anchors, with the order sheet by reference and quantity. In machinery and equipment, the configurator in English is the data sheet the industrial buyer expects to find.

— WITHOUT A FACTORY

Also for those who import
and sell under their own brand.

The same configurator, the other way round: the product is made abroad and sold here.

A distributor who imports pergolas, doors or furniture and sells them under their own brand has the mirror-image problem: the manufacturer's catalogue arrives in another language, with other units and with no prices for their market. The configurator is built with the manufacturer's rules (what can be ordered and in what sizes) and with the importer's price list, transport and installation, in their language and with their brand in front.

The order sheet then comes out in the manufacturer's language, with its references, to be sent as it is. It is the same case as the manufacturer who exports, with the roles swapped. See 3D configurator company for manufacturers and for those who sell without a factory.

— FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What we get asked
about exporting with a configurator.

There are more short answers in frequently asked questions about 3D configurators and who we are in 3D configurator company.

Do you need to build one configurator per language?

No. You build one with all the texts outside the code, in a table with one column per language. Adding a language is adding a column and reviewing it; the 3D, the rules and the price list are the same.

Who translates the configurator's texts?

We prepare the first translation of each language and your distributor or sales rep in that country reviews it in the table, without touching anything else. The technical texts (series names, finishes, warnings) are best reviewed by whoever sells there.

Can each country have its own price list and currency?

Yes. Each market carries its price list, with its currency, its taxes, its transport and its installation by area, loaded from your template and with versioning. Distributor discounts are applied to their country's price list.

What if a finish or a system is not sold in a country?

It is set as a selling rule per market: what is not supplied in a country does not appear in its configurator, and what is mandatory there (a glass, an accessory) goes in on its own. The manufacturing rules stay the same for everyone.

In which language does the order reach the factory?

Always in the factory's, usually Spanish, with your references and quantities and the same format as domestic orders. The customer receives their PDF in their language; the workshop never sees the customer's language.

How much does a configurator in several languages cost?

Development starts from €6,500 for a visual configurator of one product family; most manufacturer projects fall between €14,500 and €35,000, depending on catalogue, rules and integrations, plus maintenance from €190/month. Each language adds the translation and its review, not a new development. Details in the price of a 3D configurator.
